Founded by Mike Kahoe in 1996, GMS has provided expert guidance and operational support to hundreds of companies, helping them streamline their business operations.

    Company Timeline

     

    • 1996: GMS established by owner Mike Kahoe 
    • 2000: Our first headquarters opened in Valley View, OH 
    • 2004: GMS grew and our headquarters relocated to Richfield, OH 
    • 2006: Our Columbus, OH location opened  
    • 2008: Our Cincinnati, OH location opened 
    • 2014: GMS became self-insured in Ohio 
    • 2015: Our Atlanta, GA office opened 
    • 2016: We opened offices in Cherry Hill, NJ and Charlotte, NC 
    • 2017: We again expanded, this time opening offices in Fort Meyers, FL and Indianapolis, IN 
    • 2018: Our team continued to grow, so much so that we built a new headquarters on Timberlake Drive in Richfield, OH – where we remain today 
    • 2018: Our Detroit, MI office opened 
    • 2019: We joined the Cigna PPO network 
    • 2020: We acquired the Georgia-based PEO, Corporate Business Solutions  
    • 2021: We acquired another PEO, Synergy – expanding our footprint in Chicago, IL 
    • 2021: We celebrated 25 years in business 
    • 2022: We opened new offices in Phoenix, AZ, Denver, CO, Tampa, FL, Pittsburgh, PA, Charleston, SC, Raleigh, NC, Kansas City, MO, Austin, TX, Buffalo, NY, and Sandiego, CA 
    • 2022: We acquired Venture Workforce Solutions, a California-based PEO 
    • 2023: We acquired Simpeo, an Alabama-based PEO 
    • 2023: Our San Francisco, CA office opened 
    • 2024: We opened our 25th office location in Rochester, NY
